1. How long will it take  to finish my project?

For a typical Pool Deck or Driveway resurfacing it takes as between 2 and 7 business days depending on weather, dry times, crack repair and other variables.  If we are pouring a slab and then resurfacing it, the slab has to dry for 10 days before we can overlay it with Acrylic concrete.

Metallic Reflector Epoxy floors take between 3 and 5 days depending on the necessary prep.

2. What keeps the Acrylic Overlay from separating from the original concrete?

We resurface with an acrylic based concrete.  A bonding agent is used to essentially "glue" the concrete so that it bonds to the original concrete.  It looks like milky water and is basically a watery glue.  That is why it is referred to as acrylic concrete.  It is also known as a Synthetic Polymer.  Synthetic Polymers are derived from petroleum and because of their molecular structure they are used to bond materials together.

3.  Do you remove the current surface on my pool deck or do you just go over it?

We power wash everything with 4000 psi pressure washer to remove any "compromised" portions of the concrete. All cracks are repaired before an overlay with an acrylic concrete.  We will never resurface over Chattahoochee River Rock or Coquina shells.  Those require removal down to bare concrete.

4.  How long will the Epoxy Coating Floors or Acrylic Resurfacing last?

Epoxy Coating Floors can last a lifetime.  However two or three years after its installation you may need to reapply the top coat to maintain it's shine, depending on how much traffic there is.

You should expect at least 15 to 20 years with the Overlay's.  Reseal every 5 years.

5.  How thick is the Overlay?

It is approximately 1/4 to 1/8th of an inch thick.

6.  I have areas of my concrete that are uneven.  Can you overlay the entire thing and the uneven areas be even?

Yes.  In this situation the concrete may be thicker than 1/4 inch.  This is only an option if there is a 2 inch or less difference in the uneven area(s).  Any more and the slabs structure may be compromised.

7.  Does every acrylic overlay design cost the same?

No.   Projects where the surface needs to be ground off cost more than if they do not require grinding.

8.  How much does each design cost?

For ANY Pattern it costs approximately $4 per square foot if grinding is not required and $4.50 if it is.

9.  Are taxes included in the estimate total?

Yes they are.  We do not add them to the estimate on a separate line because they are included and taken care of by the profit margin.

10.  Do you cover the pool during the resurfacing process?

Sometimes.  We use a dust collection tool that catches most of the dust while grinding.  When grinding a sheet of plastic is put over the pool however some dust may still make it into the pool.  Most clients are able to run their pool vacuum and remove the remainder of the dust.  If needed we can send a pool cleaning service out.

11.  What is needed to start my project?

To start we need the estimate contract signed electronically or printed and signed and 1/2 of the estimate total as a deposit.  If we can't start your project right away we can accept $100 to hold their place in line.  We complete jobs in the order we receive deposits.   To sign it electronically simply go into your email, locate the estimate, you should see a button/link that says "Sign or Sign Document".  Click on it and type in your name.  As soon as you sign it I have access to it.  No sending manually needed.

12.  What options do we have to pay your company?

We accept checks made out to Elegant Concrete Solutions or Christian Robbins, Cashiers checks, Credit Card or Paypal.

13.  Do we need to clean anything before you can start the Acrylic Resurfacing?

No that is not necessary.  We pressure wash every job so you don't need to.  Grinding gets very dusty so anything you don't want dusty or wet should be relocated prior to the start date.

14.  Does the overlay get as hot as normal concrete in direct Florida sun?

No, it stays cool like "Cool Deck" does.

15.  Will mold or oil stain the concrete like bare concrete?

No.  The stain and acrylic sealer eliminates the ability for mold or oil to get into the pores of the concrete.

16.  Will I still need to use pressure washer to clean the overlay?

Soap and water is all you'll need as long as there's sealer on it.  The concrete should be resealed every five years in the state of Florida.  If you don't reseal it then yes.

17.   How long can expect en Epoxy Floor to last?

Epoxy floor coating makes renders concrete exceptionally durable. ... Epoxy coating lasts longer than many types of flooring. When installed properly, it can last for several decades without cracking or peeling. Besides the durability, its lifespan makes it popular for commercial and industrial use.

18.  Is epoxy flooring scratch resistant?

With a  polyurethane top coat it is.  It is also abrasion resistant. In fact, some manufacturer's claim that the wear resistance of polyurethane over epoxy is almost 3 to 1. ... The surface of polyurethane is not as hard as epoxy but it is much more scratch resistant, can tolerate larger temperature swings, and handles humidity much better.

19. Is Epoxy like paint?

It's not like paint at all.  Epoxy is a polymer that is a two part and when combined cause a chemical reaction which causes it to harden stronger than concrete.  It does not dry so there is no release of chemical fumes into your home or business.  It is a clear self leveling Epoxy.  With metallic epoxy both parts are combined with a powder metallic to create the stunning effects.  When it's applied to counter tops and floors,  while the epoxy is still liquid it is much thicker than any paint, it flows and moves creating a 3 dimensional effect.

Epoxy floor coverings create an impenetrable surface highly resistant to even the most corrosive chemicals making them the perfect flooring option for industrial plants, residential garages, interior pool areas, car dealerships, barns, kennels and aircraft hangers.

Hygenic

Provides a bacteria free surface, ideal for restaurants, hospitals, healthcare facilities, labs, breweries, schools, aerospace facilities, food processing facilities and kennels. Many of these facilities require dust free and easily cleanable floors. Epoxy floor completely seal the floors by creating a seamless surfaces including a 6 inch cove base up the walls.

Beautiful

Decorative epoxies can create a lasting impression with customers or visitors to your business or home. Epoxy floors are very customizable with a wide variety of decorative effects available.

Impact Resistant

100% solids epoxies have 3-4 times the PSI or compression strength of regular concrete. This makes them ideal for warehouses, loading docks, or anywhere that cars, trucks, fork-lifts or pallet jacks are used.

Slip Resistant

With the addition of decorative quartz aggregate broadcast into the epoxy, commonly referred to as a double broadcast, the epoxy system can be perfect for areas with high pedestrian traffic even when wet.

21.  How to Maintain your Interior Metallic or Flake Epoxy Floors.

Steps...

-Dust mop once a week. The best way to maintain your epoxy floor is to run a soft dust mop over it once a week.

- For heavy cleaning of a soiled epoxy floor, sweep away any loose debris and then mop floor with a hard foam mop (sometimes called Wonder Mops) with hot water and CLEAR ammonia. 4-5 ounces of ammonia per gallon of water is all that is needed to adequately remove soiling.

-Apply a Floor Wax to maintain sheen.
